Air Appraisal Company was established in 2003, at a time when used aircraft values had just experienced 2 years of precipitous decline following the events of 9/11, and the associated economic downturn. Banks, corporations, and individual aircraft owners found themselves asking, "How can I determine the actual current market value for my asset?"

Founder and President, Rob Adsem, saw an opportunity to provide a service to the aviation community that could be beneficial to aircraft buyers, sellers, lenders, operators, attorneys, and insurers alike. Although aircraft appraisals have been conducted for many years, in Rob’s opinion most have lacked the comprehensive attention to detail that is uniquely necessary when evaluating an aircraft and its records. He believes that rather than providing a value to a client that comes directly from a reference guide, it is far superior to apply the knowledge and experience of a qualified appraiser who has physically examined the subject aircraft in order to arrive at an accurate opinion of value. In addition to a thorough physical inspection of the aircraft and records, the most recent market data, derived from numerous sources, is employed in order to provide our clients with a clear picture of where the subject aircraft falls in comparison with the overall market.

Although most of our business includes the valuation of corporate jets, our appraisers are qualified to appraise everything from single engine piston aircraft to airliners. Each Certified Aircraft Appraisal conforms to the standards set forth by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), which is recognized by the courts and all reputable appraisal organizations. Since our beginning, Air Appraisal Company has performed appraisals and market valuations on aircraft totaling over $1 billion in value. Our clients include large financial institutions, well known corporations, law firms, local banks, flight schools, and many additional forms of aircraft owners and operators.
